Conditions

  1. If you have accepted the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), your responsibility is limited to $500 for damage to the vehicle you rented. If you have NOT accepted the CDW, you are responsible for the total amount of loss, regardless of the question of who is to blame. A deposit, for your own risk, will be requested by us prior to the delivery of the vehicle, this amount will be reimbursed to you in it's entirety if the vehicle is received back without damage and in the same condition it was delivered to you by us. If you decline the insurance (CDW) you agree to the additional condition that we will charge the cost of damages to your credit card and that we don't have to deal with other insurance companies or credit card companies.
  2. If the vehicle, when returned, is in a very "dirty" condition and needs additional cleaning inside and/or outside, you will be charged extra. (The amount depends on the work that has to be done to clean the vehicle).
  3. All vehicles are equipped with a spare tire and necessary tools. Punctured (flat) tires must be changed by the renter and the cost for repair is at your own expense.
  4. Only the renter of the vehicle, as mentioned in the agreement, is authorized to drive the vehicle, with the exception of persons mentioned in the agreement as "additional drivers". In the case of an accident, if the driver is not mentioned in the agreement as renter and / or as "additional driver", and consequently is not authorized to drive the vehicle, the insurance becomes void (lapses) and the renter is completely responsible for all direct and indirect loss.
  5. The vehicle is delivered with a certain reading on the fuel gauge. The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel reading. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, the renter will be charged for fuel to return the vehicle to the proper level. These costs will be higher than the usual rate at the gasoline station.
  6. In case of joy riding, theft, accident or damage you are obligated to call the police / Curacao Road Service immediately. The phone number is 199. If no report has been filed, your insurance automatically becomes void (lapses) and you are personally responsible for the total amount of loss. You must immediately inform RCR of the accident, theft or any damage caused. A damage report must be drawn up and signed.
  7. In case of lost keys we charge $30; loss of jack $55; loss of tool $50.
  8. Insurance rights become void (lapses) in the following cases:
    • Driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs
    • Failure to observe traffic rules, including but not limited to running a traffic light, driving too fast, driving in deep water.
    • Off road driving or driving on a road or path not indicated on the road map.
    • Unauthorized driving. The renter is responsible for all costs incurred.
    • In the case of accident and the damage is not reported to the police. A police report must be made.
  9. Dutch law will be used for any problem or discussions between you and RCR.
